Karan Johar Confirms Revival Of Takht Calling It His Best Screenplay, Says, "Will Make It One Day"
Karan Johar directed Takht was one of the most anticipated movies in Bollywood. Touted to be a magnum opus, the movie had best of the stars and even the first look was intriguing. However, it got shelved due to various reasons. In a recent chat now, Karan Johar has hinted at revival of Takht calling it his ambitious film.
In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Karan Johar was asked what happened to his movie Takht. In response, he said that there were different reasons behind not making it. When questioned if it has gone forever, the filmmaker stated, “It’s a film on my table, and I will make it one day”. The filmmaker added, “It is, I think, my best screenplay that has come on my table, and I will make it one day”.
Takht was set to be a story about the enmity between brothers Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh over the throne. An announcement video of the movie was also shared by the makers. The movie was originally announced with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
Karan Johar, who recently backed Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2, has partnered with Kartik Aaryan on a rom-com titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which is set to release in 2026. He has also announced a film starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya, titled Chand Mera Dil and yet another film with Kartik titled Naagzilla.
