Kaduna Political Earthquake: ADC Candidate Ashiru Meets El-Rufai, Vows to Oust APC!

Ashiru accused the current administration of failing the people, even as El-Rufai faces corruption allegations.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Kaduna State, Isa Ashiru Kudan, recently confirmed his visit to former Governor Nasir El-Rufai in Abuja. While the specific location of their meeting was not disclosed, Ashiru emphasized the productive nature of their discussion, stating that it significantly strengthened the ADC's resolve in anticipation of the 2027 governorship election.
Ashiru has publicly vowed that the ADC is fully prepared to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. He has been a vocal critic of the incumbent APC administration in Kaduna State, accusing it of failing to meet the expectations of its citizens. His firm stance was reiterated on his verified Facebook page following the meeting with El-Rufai, where he stated, "Our conversation has only deepened our resolve. The ADC in Kaduna is not merely ready, we are fully ABLE to dislodge the incompetent APC-led administration that has failed the good people of our state."
Further elaborating on his party's commitment, Ashiru called for an end to the prevailing hardship and excuses, declaring, "With unity, courage and the will of the people, we will rescue Kaduna and restore justice, development and dignity. Kaduna! 2027 is our year of redemption." This strong declaration comes amidst a broader political landscape in the state.
Adding a layer of complexity to the political dynamics, the former governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has recently been in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) concerning alleged corrupt practices during his tenure as Kaduna state governor. El-Rufai has consistently denied these allegations. Notably, Ashiru had also previously received Bello El-Rufai, the son of the former governor and the current member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, indicating a growing convergence of political figures ahead of the next election cycle.
