Jonathan's 2027 Presidential Bid: A Respected Elder's Return or PDP's Wildcard?

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has emerged as a central figure in the escalating discussions and prophecies surrounding Nigeria's 2027 presidential election. Speculation is rife regarding his potential candidacy, with various political actors either endorsing, considering, or vehemently opposing his return to the nation's highest office.
Apostle Oluwarotimi Adeyeye, President and founder of the Ibadan-based Clear Revelation Ministry, has prophesied that Goodluck Jonathan will win the 2027 Presidential election if he decides to run. Adeyeye, who has a history of accurate predictions, including the impeachment and reinstatement of former Oyo State Governor Rasidi Ladoja, shared his prophecies at a press conference in Ibadan. He asserted that God could bring Jonathan back, emphasizing Jonathan's integrity, evident in his rejection of a USA proposal on same-sex marriage and his decision to concede in 2015 to avert potential war and bloodshed. Furthermore, Adeyeye advised incumbent President Bola Tinubu to abandon any plans for a second term, stating he does not foresee Tinubu winning that contest, though he noted that with God, nothing is irreversible.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is actively considering Jonathan as a potential candidate for 2027. Governor Muhammed Bala of Bauchi State, who chairs the PDP Governors Forum, indicated that the party is looking at both former President Jonathan and the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, for the upcoming election.
