Jeep's 2027 Wrangler Laredo Stuns with Retro Makeover and Bold Off-Road Upgrades

Jeep has officially unveiled the 2027 Wrangler Laredo, bringing a retro-inspired special edition to its lineup after it was first teased as a concept at the 2026 Easter Jeep Safari. The revival of the Laredo name holds a special place in Jeep's history, recalling the original CJ and YJ Laredo models. This new iteration continues a series of special editions, known as the Twelve-4-Twelve series, rolled out by Jeep over the past year.

Drawing deep inspiration from its rugged namesake, the Texas border town of Laredo, this modern Wrangler builds on a legacy of robust simplicity, true off-road dependability, and a distinctive style. The design evokes an authentic American Southwest theme, incorporating a palette of tan, brown, and gold elements. Historically, the Laredo trim was positioned just above the base models in its 1980s heyday, offering a blend of capability and unique aesthetics that continues to resonate with Jeep enthusiasts.

The exterior styling of the 2027 Wrangler Laredo is a thoughtful homage to its Wild West roots. It comes standard with the Xtreme 35 Package, which includes a factory 1-inch lift and robust 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires. These are mounted on striking bronze, beadlock-capable wheels. The iconic seven-slot grille maintains its classic design but is accented with a unique Gobi finish that complements the overall warm aesthetic. Distinctive bodyside decals further enhance its retro appeal, alongside bronze tow hooks and bronze-accented Jeep and Trail Rated badging. At the rear, a classic lasso-style "4 Wheel Drive" decal reinforces its heritage, while CJ- and YJ-inspired decals adorn the hood center and sides.

Perhaps the most significant throwback feature is the inclusion of a tan soft top, a signature element that had been absent from the Wrangler lineup for over four years, last seen only on the Black & Tan edition. For those seeking alternative roof options, the Sky One-Touch Powertop is available exclusively on the four-door model, and a classic black removable hard top can be opted for on both the two- and four-door Laredo variants.

Inside, the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo continues its Southwestern journey with earth-tone colors and premium finishes. The seating, including heated power front seats, is meticulously wrapped in Bison Brown Nappa leather. Mayan Gold accent stitching elevates the interior with an upscale touch, contrasting beautifully with the Global Black upholstery found on the instrument panel surround, grab handle, door armrests, and center console. Laredo badging is subtly integrated throughout the cabin, including a custom Laredo center console badge. Further celebrating its namesake, the rear swing-gate plaque features the coordinates of Laredo, Texas, and even the HVAC controls are designed with charming cowboy hat motifs.

Unlike its historical predecessors, the modern JL Wrangler Laredo is available not only as a two-door model, staying true to the original, but also as a more family-friendly four-door variant. Pricing for this special edition starts at $53,240 for the two-door model and $55,620 for the four-door, representing a $1,995 premium over the 2027 Wrangler Willys when equipped with the Xtreme 35 Tire Package. Enthusiasts eager to get their hands on this retro-inspired off-roader will be able to place their orders later this month from local Jeep dealerships.
