All roads led to Summer Tides Diani for the biggest mid-year party over the weekend. Venice was among the young people who attended the event.
The young woman, according to reports online, suffered an electric shock and was quickly rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed.
She was with her friends, who shared her last moments on social media.
Maryam shared photos of Mokaya with touching words. In one, she wrote:
"Rest in peace."
The influencer felt sorry for her parents, who were expecting to see their daughter after the Diani party.
"I can imagine the pain Mokaya's parents and friends are going through. God you could have just let her see her parents for the last time," she shared.
Maryam recalled her friend as a caring soul who travelled to Diani, unaware that she would not leave the coast alive.
She asked her followers to be thankful that they are alive, since what happened to her friend could happen to anyone.
"Such a sweet and nice soul is gone 😭 Mokaya went to Diani knowing she was going to come back home . Not knowing she was going for her own death. I swear to God (ISTG) this is so sad let's thank God for the gift of life you never know what will happen next #restinpeace," she added.
The influencer revealed that they had met on July 5, and Mokaya had so much life inside her.
Maryam did not know that the hug they shared would be their last.
"Yes, I saw her last Saturday and were both so happy. I loved the tight hugs, and I hoped I'd do it again over and over, but it's fine. Heaven has gained an angel for real. Rest easy, angel, and I love you so much. My biggest hype girl. Oh, how I used to love Venice."

After the event, revellers experienced a hitch when travelling to Nairobi on July 6.
Police barricaded the Dongo Kundu bypass, a crucial access road to the Mombasa SGR station and Moi International Airport.
As a result, some travellers missed their trains and flights.
Several revellers expressed suspicion, accusing the government of disrupting travel plans deliberately ahead of the Saba Saba protests in Nairobi.
Here is what they had to say:
denise.ng:
"Mnangoja wakati mtu anapass ndo mnashow love..aki wish angekua hapa kuona all these comments."
imelasekuzza:
"Rest in peace gorgeous girl, we love you."
candy.xo2:
"Heaven just gained an angel. Rest in peace gorgeous."

She died days after celebrating her birthday.
