Inside Soap 2025 awards nominations revealed with huge returning category

Fans will be able to have their say as they have the chance to vote for the best exit of a soap opera star, as the full list of nominees for the Inside Soap Awards has been revealed.

Members of the public will be able to cast their votes in the 15 categories ahead of the awards ceremony, which will be held in London in September.

The 29th annual awards will see the return of the best exit category, which pays tribute to characters who have met tragic ends or have moved on this year.

Inside Soap magazine editor Sarah Ellis said: "Sadly, we’ve had to say goodbye to some truly beloved soap characters over the past 12 months. Who didn’t cry their eyes out at Martin’s shock death during EastEnders’ live episode?

"And we’re still not over poor Craig’s tragic demise in Corrie, or the loss of Leyla and Amy in the devastating Emmerdale limo crash. But it’s up to the fans which exit will get their vote."

Nominees for best actress include Coronation Street’s Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton, and Sue Devaney, who plays Debbie Webster, as well as EastEnders’ stars Diane Parish (Denise Fox) and Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater), and Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh (Tracy Robinson) and Emma Atkins (Charity Dingle).

Best actor nominees include Hollyoaks’ Ashley Taylor Dawson (Darren Osborne) and Kieron Richardson (Ste Hay), Emmerdale’s Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle) and EastEnders’ Paul Bradley (Nigel Bates).

Competing for best soap are Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

Best comic performance, best villain and best storyline are among the other categories soap fans can vote in.

The public will be able to cast their votes via the form in the Inside Soap magazine or on its website once voting opens to the public at midday on Tuesday (July 8).
