Coronation Street confirms Mick Michaelis' 'desperate' mission to avoid prison

Coronation Street has confirmed that Mick Michaelis will make a last-ditch attempt to avoid justice for killing PC Craig Tinker as he plots a prison break in upcoming scenes.
As fans of the ITV soap know, the character arrived on the cobbles back in February, following his wife, Lou Michaelis, to move onto the street.
They moved into Mawdsley Street at the back of Chesney and Gemma's house, which is the first time ever Corrie have extended the serial drama across the ginnel in a history-making move for the long-running show.
With their young children going to the same school, Lou quickly made a friend in Gemma Winter-Brown But unbeknownst to the Rovers Return barmaid and her husband, Chesney at the time, Mick was the wild van man who had been terrorising Chesney for months.
The couple have opted to keep quiet about their identity through fear of Mick's actions and it seems they were right to be concerned as Mick later attacked Sean Tully, whose son Dylan Wilson was in the STC with Brody Michaelis.
Mick's life, however, quickly unravelled as his link to DC Kit Green was revealed, and it was hinted that the cop may be Brody's biological dad, sending him into a horrifying rage.
After being called to a domestic disturbance at Lou and Mick Michaelis' home, Craig, who was supposed to have been on placement with CID but was given the cold shoulder by Kit, pursued Mick, suspecting him of being a drunk driver.
But as Mick headed to his van and pulled out a baseball bat, Craig tried to talk him down, but Mick brutally used it to attack him. He ordered him to get up but when he didn't move, he took his bodycam and fled the scene, leaving a motionless Craig bleeding on the ground and he later died in the hospital from his injuries.
Mick was later arrested but Corrie has released a new trailer showing a desperate Mick Michaelis on the run from prison and on a mission to reunite with his kids.
After getting news that his family are falling apart, the dramatic episode set to air next Monday (July 14) follows Mick, played by Joe Layton, as he orchestrates a prison break and plans to do a runner with Brody, Joanie and Shanice.

With the desperate killer having little to lose, he poses a danger to anyone who gets in his way. His first port of call is Weatherfield High but when he realises that his daughter Joanie has been taken home from school by Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) he heads for the cobbles.
As Sally offers Joanie a tour of Underworld, while the factory girls are at the pub, she has no idea that Mick has arrived on the street, closely followed by Kit (Jacob Roberts). What has Mick got planned and will Kit be able to stop him?
Joe said of Mick and waht's to come: "He isn't after revenge, this is about him wanting to get his family together and start a new life with them.
"The anger that we saw when he killed Craig has been replaced by desperation and love for his family, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. Kit is potentially putting his life on the line once more in his attempts to stop Mick."
