Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy in Love’ Joins YouTube’s Billion Views Club
Beyoncé and Jay-Z's classic hit, "Crazy in Love," has officially joined YouTube's Billion Views Club, becoming Beyoncé's third music video to reach this remarkable milestone. Released in 2003, the iconic track not only launched Beyoncé as a solo superstar but also dominated charts, recently achieving eight-times-platinum certification, highlighting its lasting cultural impact.
More than two decades after its release, Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” has crossed another major milestone, with its official music video surpassing 1 billion views on YouTube.
The 2003 hit becomes the third Beyoncé video to reach the platform’s Billion Views Club, following “Halo” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”
Released as the lead single from Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, “Crazy in Love” helped establish her as a solo star after years with Destiny’s Child. The track features Jay-Z, who also appears in the Jake Nava-directed video.
The video became closely associated with Beyoncé’s early solo era, particularly its choreography and high-energy performance. It won Best Choreography at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
The song was also a major commercial success. “Crazy in Love” became Beyoncé’s first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, spending eight weeks at the top of the chart.
Its commercial run has continued long after its original release. The Recording Industry Association of America certified the song eight-times platinum in December 2024, representing 8 million certified units in the United States.
The YouTube milestone adds another marker to the song’s long commercial life. “Crazy in Love” has remained one of Beyoncé’s defining recordings, continuing to attract new listeners more than 20 years after it first introduced her solo career to a global audience.
