Music icons Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and Will.i.am returned to Compton’s Centennial High School on Thursday, May 7, for a significant groundbreaking ceremony. The event marked the commencement of construction for a new building designed to accommodate 1,000 new students, symbolizing a major investment in the future of the local community.

During the ceremony, Dr. Dre delivered an impassioned speech, emphasizing a shift from "giving back" to "investing forward" for the benefit of the next generation. Reflecting on his own attendance at the high school, he described the moment as "full circle," underscoring his deep personal connection to the institution and the city of Compton.
