Guinea - Doumbouya-is-back-at-Sagesse
Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut (LBL) added to their roster 24-year old French-Guinean power forward Sekou Doumbouya (206cm-2000). It is actually his comeback to Beirut as he has played here before. He played last season at MoraBanc Andorra in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 30 games he had 11.3ppg and 4.5rpg. He also played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he recorded 14.0ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0bpg.
In 2019 he was drafted by Detroit Pistons (NBA) in first round (15th overall).
Doumbouya represented France at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) U18 in Samsun (Turkey) nine years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 6 games: Score-4(17.8ppg), 7.0rpg, 1.3spg, 1.2bpg, FGP: 62.3%, 3PT: 19.0%, FT: 72.5%.
He is quite experienced player. Doumbouya's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in four different countries. Doumbouya tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in NBA (LA Lakers), Greece (Maroussi), France (Monaco, Chorale de Roanne and Poitiers) and NBA G League (South Bay Lakers, Delaware Blue Coats and Grand Rapids Gold).
Doumbouya won NBA G League championship title in 2023.
