Firms Sign Deal to Deliver Clean Energy to 600 Million Africans

Genesis Energy Holding, a prominent Pan-African clean energy infrastructure development company, and Desert Technologies have forged a strategic collaboration aimed at significantly accelerating clean energy access across Nigeria and the wider African continent. This ambitious partnership targets reaching over 600 million people who currently lack electricity access. The pivotal agreement was officially signed at the 27th Africa Energy Forum (AEF), marking a critical step forward in addressing Africa's energy deficit.

This new collaboration is a direct progression from an initial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously established between the two entities in Dubai earlier in the year. The MoU laid the crucial groundwork for this comprehensive strategic partnership, explicitly focusing on the joint development and deployment of various clean energy solutions throughout Africa. A key aspect of this collaboration will also include strategic financing mechanisms designed to support the implementation of these energy initiatives.

The signing ceremony at the Africa Energy Forum served to underscore the unwavering commitment of both Genesis Energy Holding and Desert Technologies to cultivate high-impact partnerships. These alliances are meticulously aligned with Africa’s overarching electrification goals and contribute significantly to global sustainability priorities. The agreement was executed by Khaled Sharbatly, Chief Executive Officer of Desert Technologies, and Akinwole II Omoboriowo, Chairman of Genesis Energy Holding.

Commenting on the profound significance of this partnership, Akinwole II Omoboriowo, Chairman of Genesis Energy Holding, articulated his perspective, stating that "this collaboration with Desert Technologies marks a significant step in GENESIS’s sustained upward trajectory mission to expand access to clean, reliable power across Africa." Echoing this sentiment, Khaled Sharbatly, Chief Executive Officer of Desert Technologies, emphasized that "this strategic partnership with Genesis marks a new chapter in D-T’s mission to expand Saudi innovation into high-impact global markets. By combining our smart infrastructure solutions with Genesis’ proven development platform, we are laying the groundwork for a long-term alliance that will accelerate Africa’s clean energy transformation—one project, one community at a time.” This joint statement, issued from Jeddida, Saudi Arabia, and London, United Kingdom, highlights the global reach and shared vision of the two companies in tackling Africa's energy challenges.
