Hapoel Shlomo Tel-Aviv (Winner League) agreed terms wit 29-year-old American (also has Puerto Rican passport) 206cm center Tai Odiase (college: UIC) for the upcoming season. He joins another USA player Antonio Blakeney who is already on the roster. Odiase most recently played at Bahcesehir in the Turkish BSL league. In 36 games, he averaged 9.6ppg and 3.9rpg last season. He also played 22 games in Eurocup, where he had 12.7ppg and 5.2rpg, helping them reach the semifinals. Odiase was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-Eurocup Third Team, marking a very successful season in his career.
Odiase also repped Puerto Rico at the CIT Championship Finalist 7 years ago.
He is a very experienced player. Odiase has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to ten different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Germany (BG Goettingen and EWE Baskets), Greece, Italy (Brescia), Puerto Rico (Piratas), Spain, Ukraine (Prometey), Dominican Republic (Mauricio Baez), NBA G League (Greensboro Swarm) and The Basketball Tournament (GCG and Gutter Cats).
Odiase won the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League championship title in 2024. He was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Latvian-Estonian Basketball League Honorable Mention in 2024.
He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2018, and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
