ENHYPEN Crisis! Weekly Broadcast Halted After HEESEUNG's Dramatic Departure

ENHYPEN is currently undergoing a period of significant readjustment following the recent departure of member HEESEUNG, a development that has led to immediate changes in the group's schedule. The band's weekly YouTube series, “EN-O CLOCK,” has seen its next few episodes canceled, with a temporary hiatus announced by their label, BELIFT LAB, on Thursday (March 12). This announcement coincided with the day a new installment of the variety web-show was originally scheduled to be released.

BELIFT LAB communicated the pause via a post on X, stating, “We would like to inform you about the ‘EN-O’ CLOCK’ series. The ‘EN-O’ CLOCK’ series, which was scheduled to be released every Thursday, will be taking a short break. We will return with even better content in April. We ask for your kind understanding.” Billboard has reportedly reached out to BELIFT for additional information regarding the situation.

The cancellation of “EN-O CLOCK” comes just two days after the HYBE-owned company confirmed HEESEUNG's departure from the septet. BELIFT LAB stated that after “extensive deliberation” and “in-depth discussions with each of the members,” a mutual decision was reached for HEESEUNG to pursue a career as a soloist. This news sparked a wave of mixed reactions from ENHYPEN fans, who expressed a range of emotions including sadness, concern, and confusion across online platforms. At the time of reporting, a petition protesting the lineup change had garnered over 1 million signatures.

Addressing questions regarding why HEESEUNG could not explore solo opportunities while remaining a member of the band – a model successfully adopted by other prominent K-pop groups like BTS and BLACKPINK – BELIFT provided a statement to Billboard. The label explained, “We concluded that allowing HEESEUNG to focus fully on his career as a solo artist, rather than pursuing solo activities within the team, would be the most fulfilling approach for both ENHYPEN and HEESEUNG.”

Looking ahead, HEESEUNG will remain under the same BELIFT LAB umbrella as he embarks on his solo music journey. Concurrently, ENHYPEN will continue its activities as a six-member boy band, with the lineup consisting of SUNGHOON, JUNGWON, SUNOO, JAY, JAKE, and NI-KI. Two of the remaining members, JAY and JAKE, made their first interview appearance since HEESEUNG’s departure on Australia’s The Morning Show on Wednesday (March 11). While the topic of HEESEUNG's exit was not discussed during the interview, JAKE, sitting alongside JAY, mentioned the group has been engaged in “a lot” of rehearsals for their upcoming concert at the Hello Melbourne festival. The Aussie-raised performer elaborated, “There’s been a bit of changes in the choreo with the formation, all that. So we’ve been practicing a lot,” indicating adjustments are being made to their performances.
