NDC Slams Rising Banditry in Zamfara
The Nigeria Democratic Congress in Zamfara State has strongly condemned recent bandit attacks in Talata Mafara and Bungudu LGAs, which resulted in the brutal murder of farmers and security personnel. The party extended condolences to affected families and urged both federal and state governments to take immediate and decisive action to end banditry.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Zamfara State has vehemently condemned the recent surge of banditry and terrorist attacks that have plagued the Talata Mafara and Bungudu Local Government Areas. These attacks, which have tragically targeted both civilian communities and dedicated security forces, have been declared unacceptable by the party.
In a formal statement released on Sunday in Gusau, the NDC publicity secretary for Zamfara State, Alkassim Kayatawa, conveyed the profound condolences of the state chairman, Alhaji Surajo Maikatako. The statement highlighted the party's deep shock and sorrow regarding the brutal murder of innocent farmers in the communities of Sauna and Ruwan Gora within Talata Mafara LGA. These hardworking citizens were ruthlessly killed by bandits, with several others sustaining severe injuries, prompting the NDC to express heartfelt sympathy for the grieving families and their immeasurable pain.
Furthermore, the NDC statement detailed a horrific incident in Bungudu LGA, where terrorists invaded and abducted the current Local Government Council Chairman. During this heinous act, they senselessly murdered his security detail, which included two gallant policemen and two brave vigilante members. The NDC extended its profound commiserations to the families of these fallen heroes, acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty to protect their state.
The Zamfara NDC unequivocally strong condemns these heinous and cowardly acts of terrorism. The party emphasized that the continued loss of innocent lives and the deliberate targeting of community leaders and security personnel constitute a grave and unacceptable threat to the peace, stability, and overall security of Zamfara State. Such actions undermine the very fabric of society and cannot be tolerated.
In light of these escalating atrocities, the NDC concluded its statement by issuing an urgent and unequivocal call to action. The party implored both the Federal Government and the Zamfara State Government to take immediate, decisive, and comprehensive measures to effectively end the pervasive banditry and restore lasting peace and security to the troubled state. The NDC stressed the necessity of a robust response to protect citizens and prevent further loss of life.
