Diddy Accused: Aubrey O’Day Alleges Sexual Advances Led to Danity Kane Exit

Aubrey O’Day, former member of the girl group Danity Kane, has come forward with explosive allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs in the Netflix docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning.” The four-part series features O’Day detailing her experiences, including her removal from Danity Kane and profound claims of sexual assault by Diddy, during her time on the reality competition “Making The Band.”
O’Day recounted how Diddy allegedly singled her out, stating, “Diddy made it clear that I was ‘the looker.’ He was separating me and there was a different set of expectations from me, and I just naturally float into the grooming.” She further alleged that Diddy repeatedly “crossed the line” by sending explicit emails that included photos of his penis. O’Day read aloud from an alleged email from Combs, which conveyed a desire to “turn you out” and detailed a dynamic of control: “I make my woman do what I tell her to do, and she loves it. I just want — and like — to do things different. I’ma finish watching this porn and finish masturbating. I’ll think of you, happy face. If you change your mind and get ready to do what I say, hit me. Happy face. God bless, Diddy. God is the greatest.”
O’Day's journey began with “Making the Band” in 2005, leading to her selection for Danity Kane. However, her tenure ended in 2008 when Diddy publicly fired her from the group. The docuseries, produced by 50 Cent, culminates in a particularly harrowing scene in its fourth episode. O’Day reads from an affidavit by an alleged witness to her being sexually assaulted by Diddy and another individual in a studio room.
In a deeply emotional moment, O’Day revealed she has no personal recollection of the assault. The affidavit graphically described the witness stumbling upon a “horrifying scene” while looking for a bathroom, where O’Day was allegedly naked from the waist down, with “Puff Daddy was penetrating in her vagina, and there was another stalky light-skinned man with his penis in her mouth.” O’Day, who states she does not drink, grappled with the implications, questioning, “Does this mean I was raped? Is that what this means? I don’t even know if I was raped, and I don’t want to know.” She articulated the immense burden placed on her, fearing that if the witness’s account were fabricated, it could undermine the credibility of other victims with civil lawsuits against Diddy. “You realize the burden that that puts on my soul for the past year, which is if I expose one victim who’s got a civil lawsuit, that gives Diddy and his legal team credit to take down everybody else as potential liars,” she explained.
In response to the series, a spokesperson for Diddy, Juda Engelmayer, declined to comment on the specific allegations. Engelmayer issued a statement to USA TODAY asserting, “Many of the people featured have longstanding personal grievances, financial motives, or credibility issues that have been documented for years. Several of these stories have already been addressed in court filings, and others were never raised in any legal forum because they’re simply not true. The project was built around a one-sided narrative led by a publicly admitted adversary, and it repeats allegations without context, evidence, or verification. Sean Combs will continue to address legitimate matters through the legal process, not through a biased Netflix production.” For individuals struggling with sexual assault, resources are available through RAINN at 800-656-4673 or online at rainn.org.
