Thoubal, April 04 2025: In sync with the directive issued the central government, comprehensive monitoring of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, also known as "Pradhan Mantri Poshan", commenced in Thoubal district to ensure effective implementation of the flagship programme aimed at enhancing the nutritional standards of school-going children.

Addressing media persons in this regard at his office, Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subhash said that the chief secretary has directed all DCs to monitor the flagship Mid-Day Meal Scheme.

In response, a Monitoring Committee consisting of 21 officials has been formed in Thoubal, followed by initiation of the monitoring process.

On Friday, the committee held a meeting where inspection reports were presented and thoroughly discussed.

He also informed that the reports received revealed discrepancies, including instances where records of Mid- Day Meal implementation were found in schools that have no students.

These errors and false reports are set to be remedied within a month, confided the DC, while urging clubs and organisations in Thoubal district to cooperate with the district administration and report any discrepancies observed in schools.
