Cyclone Men Get Revenge Over Kansas State, 73-57

Iowa State finishes the regular season by beating Kansas State 73-57 in Manhattan. With this win, ISU demoted KSU to a first-round game on Tuesday, March 11. The Cyclones are an auto-lock at the 5 Seed playing the winner of the Number 12 Seed vs. Number 13 Seed (Game 1).

Iowa State was led by a red-hot Curtis Jones, who finished the game with 24 points, five assists, two steals, and five rebounds. Jones also had an off-setting technical foul while having playful banter with Wildcat Dug McDaniel, and during the announcement of the fouls, the players on the floor started to laugh.

Joshua Jefferson finished with 14 points and the team’s high of 7 rebounds. Dishon Jackson had a strong performance, adding valuable front-court minutes and finishing with 11 points, three steals, and four rebounds. Tamin finished the game with six points and four assists. Nate Heise scored seven points with six rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Milan had a quiet day, scoring seven with foul trouble, and Brandton scored four. Cade Kelderman played for four minutes and had two assists due to the absence of Keshon Gilbert.

The Cyclones will play on Wednesday, March 12, at 11:30 AM CT against the winners of Game 1 on Tuesday, March 11, which is also being played at the 11:30 AM CT timeslot. That winner will go on to face BYU on Thursday, March 13, at the 11:30 AM time slot.
