Cyclones Beat Colorado 79-65
Iowa State is now 3-0 against Colorado this season and is 2-0 against them in Big XII play. The first meeting with these two teams was at The Maui Invitational where the Cyclones won 99-71, game two was in Boulder where the Cyclones won again by only 10 points led by Curtis Jones’ 20-point game. Tonight, the men completed the series behind top scorers Milan Momcilovic and Dishon Jackson who finished with 13 points. Milan made two three-pointers while going 7-8 from the free-throw line. Dishon went 3-4 from inside and converted 7-10 free throws.
Joshua Jefferson and Tamin Lipsey both finished with 12 points while Jefferson had seven rebounds and four assists. Tamin finished the night with three assists and two steals. Nate Heise had one of his best performances in an Iowa State jersey going 4-6 from the field and 1-2 from the charity stripe to finish with 11 points.
Keshon Gilbert finished the game with five points and a team-high five assists. Bradton Chatfield scored six and Curtis Jones had an uncharacteristically quiet night with only scoring seven points, but also had three rebounds and three assists.
Iowa State’s next game will be at Houston hosted by College GameDay on Saturday, February 22. GameDay will begin at 9:00 AM CT with tip-off at 1:00 PM CT.
