Cyclones drop home finale to BYU, 88-85
BYU outlasts Iowa State in a double overtime game of the ages that saw the first points take 4:42, with five turnovers in that timeframe for BYU. The Cougars held a 22-point lead in the second half before clawing their way back, tying with nine seconds left to force the first overtime. A Saunders steal saw the end of the first half, which was closed out by free throws.

Joshua Jefferson led the Cyclones with 19 points, with Milan right behind him with 18. Curtis (16), Tamin (15), and Keshon (13) were the other contributors. Nate Heise led the team with five rebounds, with Jefferson (4), Jackson (3), Milan (3), and Gilbert (3) right behind. Iowa State finished with 18 total steals this game, led by Keshon’s eight. Tamin and Heise were tied for second with three.
Let’s not have the loss lose sight of a large accomplishment tonight as well. Tamin Lipsey is officially the 35th player for Iowa State to join the 1,000 Point Club.
