Comedy King Nate Bargatze Shatters Guinness World Record with Unprecedented Tour Success
Comedian Nate Bargatze has set a new Guinness World Record for selling the most tickets on a stand-up comedy tour with his "Big Dumb Eyes" tour, surpassing Jeff Dunham's previous record. Achieving this feat in a remarkable 16 months across fewer venues, Bargatze continues to rise with his clean comedy, a successful film, and plans for a theme park. He will be presented with the award onstage in Toronto.
Tennessee-born comedian Nate Bargatze has officially set a Guinness World Record, achieving the remarkable feat of selling the most tickets for a stand-up comedy tour. His critically acclaimed “Big Dumb Eyes” tour has surpassed the previous record held by Jeff Dunham, marking a significant milestone in the world of live comedy. Bargatze is scheduled to be presented with this prestigious award onstage at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
Ahead of the Toronto show, Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” world tour had already sold an approximate total of 2,016,254 tickets. This impressive figure officially surpassed Jeff Dunham’s “Spark of Insanity” tour, which had previously held the record with 1,981,720 tickets sold. The final, verified ticket count for Bargatze’s Guinness World Records certificate will be confirmed later this weekend.
What makes Bargatze’s accomplishment even more remarkable is the speed and efficiency with which he achieved it. Jeff Dunham’s previous record of 1,981,720 tickets was accumulated across 386 venues over a period of 35 months and 8 days, specifically between September 13, 2007, and August 21, 2010. In stark contrast, Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” tour, which commenced on April 6, 2025, crossed the 2 million ticket mark in just 16 months and 10 days, and notably, across only 128 venues, without the use of puppets that characterized Dunham's act.
Beyond setting a new world record, Bargatze has also broken 84 individual venue records during his tour, according to his representatives. One particularly noteworthy achievement includes becoming the only comedian to sell out three consecutive performances at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena within a single calendar year—a feat previously matched only by music icons Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks. Bargatze’s unique brand of clean, deadpan comedy has garnered him widespread appeal across all age groups.
His success extends beyond ticket sales, as Pollstar recognized him as the highest-grossing stand-up comic, reporting $77.5 million in 2025 alone. Earlier this year, Bargatze also made his debut on the silver screen with his movie “The Breadwinner.” Looking to the future, the comedian is currently in the planning stages of building a $350 million theme park in his home state of Tennessee, to be named Nateland.
