Cocaine Kingpin Unmasked: Motherwell Joiner Faces Decades Behind Bars in £125,000 Drug Bust!

A Motherwell joiner, Steven Scott, is facing a potential jail sentence after being apprehended with cocaine valued at £125,000. The 38-year-old, residing on Milton Street, admitted his involvement in the supply of cocaine on May 16 of the previous year when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Police, acting on an anonymous tip-off, executed a search warrant at Scott's home, leading to the detention of both Scott and his partner. During the search, officers discovered 1.5kg of the Class A drug stored in a rucksack. According to Lewis Devoy, prosecuting, Scott directed officers upstairs, stating, "It's all in there. It's nothing to do with anyone else," and specifically pointed towards a bedroom wardrobe. Inside the wardrobe, a large rucksack was found containing multiple bags of white powder. Additionally, a set of scales, snap bags, and a quantity of caffeine powder were recovered.

Analysis confirmed the substance was cocaine of "particularly high" quality. Desmond Ziolo, Scott's defense lawyer, informed the court that his client, a father of three, is "aware of the severity of the offence." Ziolo further explained that Scott's involvement in the drug supply chain was "very much at the lower end," as he was merely asked to hold onto the items.

Sheriff John Hamilton acknowledged Scott's "negligible" criminal record but issued a stern warning that a prison sentence is "extremely likely." The case has been adjourned until next month to allow for background reports and an electronic tagging assessment to be completed.
