Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in the lead roles, is highly anticipated. A video recently went viral showing Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praising the film's production quality.

At the Waves Summit 2025 in Mumbai, Devendra Fadnavis spoke with writer-producer Namit Malhotra and conveyed his admiration for the project. He noted that India has a long history of storytelling and that combining this tradition with modern technology is crucial. He was impressed by the quality of Ramayana during his visit with the Prime Minister and believes this approach is essential for engaging the new generation, expressing confidence that the production will be world-class.

Ramayana boasts a star-studded cast, including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta are also part of the cast. The epic is planned as a two-part release, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second in 2027.

Producer Namit Malhotra aims to elevate Indian storytelling to a global level. He wants to make India proud and inspire global audiences by celebrating cinema as a whole. Acknowledging the widespread appeal of films like Oppenheimer and Forrest Gump, Malhotra believes Ramayana has similar timeless qualities. He considers the project a unique opportunity to create a film that realizes its full potential.
