Christian Nodal's Hit Blasts Past 1 Billion YouTube Views!

Christian Nodal's acclaimed 2018 hit, "No Te Contaron Mal," has officially joined YouTube's prestigious Billion Views Club. The official music video, directed by Omar Torres and Victor Zambrano, marks Nodal's second entry into this exclusive group, following the success of "Adiós Amor," which achieved the milestone in 2020.

"No Te Contaron Mal" was featured on Nodal’s sophomore album, *Ahora*, released in 2019. The powerful track was penned by renowned producer and songwriter Edgar Barrera. Upon its release, the song demonstrated significant chart dominance, spending an impressive 38 weeks atop Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart. Its critical success was further solidified by a Latin Grammy win and a Regional Mexican Song of the Year award at the BMI Latin Awards.

Edgar Barrera shared insights into the song's creation, emphasizing its special significance. He recounted, "This song is super special to me because it’s the first song I wrote with Christian Nodal and it’s the song that started our friendship." Barrera added that he "knew the song would become something special because it was born in such an organic way."

The creative collaboration began early in Nodal's career, shortly after "Adiós Amor" gained traction. Barrera reached out to Nodal, and a mutual friend facilitated their introduction. In the summer of 2018, Barrera traveled to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, to meet Nodal. They then journeyed to a remote city called Jalpa, where, without internet or cell phone connection, they wrote the song on the very same day. Barrera picked up his guitar, and Nodal shared a personal story. The song, which delves into a tale of infidelity, was remarkably written in just 30 minutes.

Nodal continues to innovate with his latest studio album, the mariacheño experience *Bandera Blanca*, released in May of this year via JG Music/Sony Music México. He is currently supporting this collection with his extensive Pa’l Cora Tour 2026.
