Bobby Tambling, a legendary figure in Chelsea Football Club's history, has passed away at the age of 84. Tambling, a prolific striker, left an indelible mark on the club, serving as their all-time leading scorer for several decades.

From 1959 to 1970, Tambling made 370 appearances for Chelsea, netting an impressive 202 goals. This record stood as a testament to his scoring prowess until it was finally surpassed by Frank Lampard in May 2013. Tambling's impact was immediate and significant, as he scored on his debut for the club as a mere 17-year-old.

Throughout his illustrious career with the Blues, Tambling played a pivotal role in the team's successes. He was instrumental in Chelsea's 1965 League Cup triumph, notably finding the back of the net against Leicester in the final. He also scored in the 1967 FA Cup final, although Chelsea ultimately suffered a defeat to Tottenham.
