During a recent emergency hearing, actress Blake Livelywas reportedly humiliated by Judge Lewis Liman, who is overseeing her court battle with“It Ends With Us”co-star Justin Baldoni. According to a Daily Mail report, Judge Liman allegedly warned the “Gossip Girl” star that “celebrity is fleeting” and admitted he had not heard of either her or the “Jane The Virgin” actor before taking on their case.

These harsh comments, reminiscent of Mariah Carey’sviral “I don’t know her” snub, were delivered the night before Lively was scheduled to be deposed. The context arose when Baldoni’s lawyer, Kevin Fritz, suggested that Lively was receiving “special treatment simply because she’s a celebrity.” Judge Liman, however, swiftly interrupted Fritz, cautioning him against making such “accusations” and calling it a “serious issue.”

The judge emphasized the importance of framing discussions in language appropriate for the court, stating, “It does not help me and it’s not helped me in this case to start throwing around accusations.” He reiterated his stance on celebrity status, confirming, “I’m well aware that Baldoni is a person of high profile. So is Lively. I have told you before, before I came into this case, I didn’t know who your client was, I did not know who the plaintiff was. Their names were unknown to me.” He concluded by stressing, “As far as I’m concerned, whether they have celebrity at the moment or not is irrelevant. Celebrity, as you know, and everybody knows, can be fleeting. It’s also not relevant to the court. So, your point is well taken that celebrity is irrelevant. Now let’s make it irrelevant. We don’t need to talk about it.”

The legal dispute began when Lively filed a complaint againstBaldoni in December 2023, accusing him of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign to damage her reputation. Baldoni denied these allegations and, in January, countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for extortion and defamation. However, Judge Liman dismissed Baldoni’s countersuit in June.

In a related development, Lively, known for her role in “A Simple Favor,” had previously requested to choose the location for her deposition. Her request was approved, and the deposition, initially set for Thursday, has been rescheduled for July 31. Representatives for Lively, Baldoni, and Liman did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
