Bawumia: 'NDC Walks with Dumsor'

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP 2024 flagbearer and former Vice President, has reminded Ghanaians about the warnings issued by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prior to the 2024 elections. Bawumia recalled that the NPP had cautioned that the NDC and "dumsor" (power outages) are intrinsically linked, suggesting the party's inability to effectively manage and resolve the country’s power crisis.
According to Bawumia, Ghanaians did not heed these warnings and are now experiencing the consequences firsthand. He emphasized that a consistent and reliable power supply is crucial for the successful implementation of a 24-hour economy, a goal the NDC has failed to achieve since assuming power. This failure, Bawumia asserts, is causing significant delays in their flagship 24-hour economy program.
"Can you have a 24-hour economy with dumsor? It is not possible. We warned Ghanaians that the NDC and dumsor walk together. Once they take one step forward, dumsor follows. Ghanaians didn’t listen, but today it is clear we have a major problem. We managed this for eight years, but for them, four months in, it’s a big challenge," Bawumia stated during his Thank You Tour, addressing enthusiastic party supporters.
