AFM Unleashes Gothic Horror, Genre Thrills, and Major Doc Sales

The American Film Market (AFM) is buzzing with a diverse slate of films, ranging from intimate documentaries about fashion icons to chilling gothic horrors and a variety of genre thrillers. London-based sales and production company Twenty-Nine Palms Entertainment is launching in earnest at the AFM with “Brunello: The Gracious Visionary,” an upcoming documentary about Brunello Cucinelli, known as Italy’s “King of Cashmere.”

Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore, this hybrid film blends documentary and fiction, chronicling Cucinelli’s remarkable journey from a farmer’s son to the creative director and executive chairman of a global luxury lifestyle brand with a market capitalization exceeding $7.8 billion. The film offers an intimate portrait of Cucinelli, often referred to as a “philosopher-designer,” celebrated for his unique integration of humanistic values, traditional craftsmanship, and ethical entrepreneurship. After a soft launch at the Toronto International Film Festival, Twenty-Nine Palms, a new outfit led by former Amazon MGM Studios exec Edoardo Bussi, is now ramping up sales efforts.
