XRP Whale Frenzy: Binance Sees $1.6 Billion Inflow, Hitting 6-Month High
XRP is experiencing a notable surge in "whale" inflows to Binance, reaching a six-month high, while analysts observe a potential inverse head-and-shoulders pattern signaling a major price rally. Concurrently, XRPL developers have released xrpld version 3.4.0, introducing new amendments like LendingProtocolV1_1 and critical bug fixes.
Onchain data from CryptoQuant indicates a significant surge in XRP "whale" inflows to the Binance exchange, reaching a six-month high. Over the past 30 days, cumulative inflows have approached 1.6 billion XRP, marking the highest level observed since last March. This notable increase signifies a substantial volume of XRP being transferred from large wallets into a more liquid trading environment on Binance, following a period of steady decline since March and lows recorded in May, June, and July, with a slow recovery beginning in August and a big spike in recent weeks.
While such large transfers to an exchange like Binance might suggest a potential increase in the available market supply of XRP in the short term, it is crucial to note that these movements do not definitively indicate an imminent sell-off by whale wallets. The transfers could serve various purposes, including active trading strategies, efficient liquidity management, or the strategic reallocation of holdings across different wallets and exchanges.
In parallel with these significant onchain movements, XRP's price action is under close scrutiny by market analysts. At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $1.32, reflecting a 0.82% increase over the last 24 hours. Crypto analyst Ali has highlighted a potential inverse head-and-shoulders pattern forming on XRP's daily chart. Should this pattern continue to develop as anticipated, it could signal a significant price movement. Analysts suggest a potential push towards the neckline resistance situated near $1.55. A confirmed breakout and sustained trading above this $1.55 level could validate the pattern, potentially triggering a substantial 35% rally, pushing XRP's price towards $2 and possibly even higher.
Further developments within the XRP ecosystem include a new software release for the XRP Ledger protocol's reference server implementation. XRPL developers have unveiled version 3.4.0 of xrpld, which introduces several key enhancements. This release incorporates two new amendments, retires a previously active amendment, and includes a range of bug fixes and build improvements designed to bolster the protocol's stability and functionality.
Among the notable additions is the LendingProtocolV1_1 amendment. This feature significantly expands the capabilities of Single Asset Vaults and the broader Lending Protocol by integrating closed-ended vaults and adopting cash-basis accounting principles. Additionally, the release bundles amendment-gated fixes under the `fixCleanup3_4_0` package. The `fixAMMOverflowOffer` amendment has also been retired, indicating that its functionalities are now permanently integrated into the protocol's core. To improve accessibility and security, the xrpld DEB and RPM packages are now officially hosted at packages.xrplf.org, secured with an XRPLF signing key.
