Mitchell, who scored an impressive 33 points, etched her name in the league's history books during the third quarter with a crucial 3-pointer that pushed her past the previous record of 1,021 points, set by A'ja Wilson for the Las Vegas Aces in 2024. Mitchell's season total now stands at an astounding 1,034 points.

Mitchell recounted her surprise upon entering the Fever locker room to a celebratory confetti shower, initially thinking it was for coach Stephanie White. She quickly realized the celebration was for her, marking a truly historic moment in her career. Beyond breaking the season scoring record, Mitchell also extended her own WNBA record by scoring at least 20 points for the 25th consecutive game, demonstrating remarkable consistency throughout the season.
