Verzuz was originally launched by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz in March 2020, emerging as a creative outlet during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic when many were confined to their homes. The series quickly gained immense popularity, becoming a cultural touchstone. In March 2021, the founders sold the company to Triller Network.
