Tyson Fury Confirms August Dublin Bout, Hints at Epic Anthony Joshua Showdown

British heavyweight boxing stars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are reportedly on a collision course for a highly anticipated showdown in November, following announcements of their individual comeback fights. Tyson Fury has declared his intention to fight on August 1 in Dublin, just one week after Anthony Joshua is set to make his return to the ring.

Anthony Joshua's comeback bout is scheduled for July 25 in Riyadh, where he will face Albanian Kristian Prenga. This will mark Joshua's first fight since a tragic car crash in Nigeria in December, which claimed the lives of two of his close friends. Meanwhile, Fury, who recently returned from a 16-month retirement with a wide points victory over Russia's Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, is preparing for his August fight.

Fury posted a video on Instagram showing him in training in Thailand with the caption, "Let's go August 1, Dublin, Ireland." This suggests he is likely to be featured on a card being staged by promoter Frank Warren at the 3Arena in the Irish capital on that date, which includes a bout between Pierce O'Leary and Mark Chamberlain. An opponent for Fury's upcoming fight has not yet been revealed, though Warren has ruled out former world champion Andy Ruiz Jr.

The rivalry between Fury and Joshua intensified after Fury's win in April, when he immediately called out Joshua, who was present ringside. A verbal exchange ensued, with Joshua notably taunting his rival by declaring, "I'm the landlord, remember that. You work for me." Despite the heated exchange, Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, has since provided an optimistic update on the potential mega-fight, stating, "Signed, sealed, delivered! AJ v Fury is on."
