Tragedy Strikes: Late Nigerian Singer Destiny Boy's Family Desperate for Missing SUV Return
Afeez Adeshina, the grieving father of the late Afrobeat singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as 'Destiny Boy', has issued a heartfelt public appeal for assistance following the disappearance of his son's SUV just days after the young artist's tragic passing. In a video that quickly gained traction on Tuesday, Adeshina senior expressed profound concern regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle, alleging that it was returned to a car dealership shortly after Destiny Boy's death and has not been seen by the family since.
The father recounted the details of the vehicle's purchase, explaining that the SUV, though not new, was acquired from Lycon Autos. He explicitly stated that he accompanied his son during the transaction to finalize the purchase. On the day of acquisition, the dealership reportedly provided a driver to convey the vehicle to their residence. Destiny Boy subsequently chose to retain this same driver for his personal transportation needs.
However, the situation took a troubling turn when the driver allegedly claimed that the late singer owed him money. Following this assertion, the driver reportedly took the SUV back to the dealership without any prior notification or consent from Destiny Boy's family. The elder Adeshina lamented that he does not possess the driver's contact information, further complicating their efforts to locate the vehicle.
Destiny Boy's death, at the tender age of 22 on Sunday, has been shrouded in controversy. His mother shed some light on the circumstances in an interview conducted on Monday, revealing that her son had been battling an illness prior to his demise. She described it as a long-term, mysterious illness characterized by recurrent seizures, indicating the profound challenges the family faced.
The mother emphatically dismissed prevalent rumors linking her son's death to ritualistic activities, condemning those responsible for spreading such misinformation during their time of grief. She underscored the family's strenuous efforts to ensure Destiny Boy received both adequate medical care and traditional treatments in hopes of alleviating his condition.
Further compounding the tragic events, police authorities have since confirmed an arrest in connection with the circumstances surrounding Destiny Boy's death, signaling an ongoing investigation into the matter.
