Sarah Araba Tettey, a 26-year-old Ghanaian lawyer, tragically passed away after reportedly collapsing during celebrations following Ghana's victory over Panama at the ongoing FIFA World Cup. The incident took place on Wednesday at the Standard Hostel, a private accommodation facility situated in Bomso, near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
According to reports from Ghanaian media outlet Citi Newsroom, Tettey, who was an alumna of KNUST’s Faculty of Law, was in the company of friends, watching the football match. She suddenly collapsed as the post-match celebrations were underway. Immediate action was taken to rush her to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel made diligent efforts to revive her. However, despite these efforts, she was later pronounced dead.
