Tottenham 'Not For Sale': £4.5 Billion Bid for Club Unequivocally Rejected!

Tottenham Hotspur has unequivocally rejected an informal world-record takeover bid of £4.5 billion from a US-led consortium fronted by American tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick. The offer, which included £3.3 billion for the club and a further £1.2 billion for a player budget, was reportedly aimed at transforming Spurs into a global footballing superpower.
The club's majority shareholder, ENIC Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd, and the Lewis family, who own the majority of ENIC, firmly stated that "Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale" and that ENIC is "not looking to sell its stake in the club." This rejection marks the third such instance, following previous expressions of interest from Amanda Staveley’s PCP International Finance and a consortium led by Dr Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited, both dismissed earlier this month.
Despite the club's steadfast position, the official response acknowledged the bid in accordance with the UK Takeover Code, leaving a narrow window open. The consortium is now required, by 5:00 p.m. on October 24, 2025, to either announce a formal intention to make an offer or declare that it does not intend to proceed. This deadline can be extended with the consent of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers.
Brooklyn Earick, 41, a former DJ and NASA spacecraft researcher who founded Redacted RnD, leads a 12-person consortium that includes NFL and NBA owners. Earick has fuelled speculation by posting on social media, including an image of the Sun's back page story on the bid and a picture of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium dressing room with a countdown timer.
The bid comes at a time of significant change for Tottenham, following the forced departure of long-serving chairman Daniel Levy at the start of September. The Lewis family trust appointed Peter Charrington as non-executive chairman, Vinai Venkatesham as chief executive, and Thomas Frank as head coach, all in 2025. The family's primary focus is now on supporting this new leadership to achieve greater on-field success, rather than selling their stake. The club recently celebrated winning its first trophy in 16 years, beating Manchester United in May's Europa League final.
Manager Thomas Frank has received assurances from both the Lewis family and chief executive Vinai Venkatesham regarding the club's stability, stating, "The Lewis family has been very transparent, very good in the way they have communicated and it's very clear the club is not for sale." While the Lewis family is reportedly open to external investment in a minority share, their commitment to driving success on the pitch remains unchanged, underscoring their resolve against a full sale.
