Taraba Landslide: PDP Sweeps All Chairmanship Seats in LG Polls!

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has secured a resounding victory in the recent chairmanship elections across all 16 local government areas of Taraba State. The official declaration was made on Sunday by Dr. Phillip Duwe, chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC), from the Commission’s headquarters in Jalingo, confirming the PDP candidates as the duly elected chairmen.
Addressing claims of limited party participation, Dr. Duwe clarified that four political parties actively contested the elections: the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Peoples Party (APP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Young Progressives Party (YPP). He emphasized that the elections were conducted impartially and without discrimination, noting that TSIEC had introduced significant innovations to the electoral system to enhance and guide future elections in the state.

He further expressed profound satisfaction with the collaborative efforts of the electorate, civil society organizations (CSOs), the media, and security operatives for maintaining law and order throughout the process.
