Nigeria's Super Falcons secured a commanding 6-2 victory over Egypt in their final Group C match to book a place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
After recovering from an inconsistent start to the group stage, the ten-time African champions finished strongly with an emphatic attacking display. Egypt, already eliminated before the match, exited the tournament without recording a point.
Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring from the penalty spot before leaving the pitch through injury, while Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu, Joy Omewa, Christy Ucheibe and Rasheedat Ajibade all contributed to Nigeria's six-goal haul.
Nadine Ghazi scored twice for Egypt, including a first-half penalty, but the Pharaohs were unable to contain Nigeria's attacking pressure. The result secured the Super Falcons' progression to the knockout stage despite lingering defensive concerns.
