Stephen Curry’s Return Pushed Back Amid Ongoing Knee Rehab

Stephen Curry says his return to the court will take longer than expected as he continues to rehab a lingering right knee issue. The setback extends his absence to 10 straight games, deepening the Golden State Warriors injury concerns.

Curry told ESPN he has yet to resume on-court workouts, describing the injury as unpredictable in its healing process. The update followed a 129-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, underscoring the team’s recent struggles.

The two-time MVP is dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome, commonly known as runner’s knee, which causes swelling and discomfort around the kneecap. A setback during the All-Star break prompted the Warriors to shut him down from court activity for 10 days as a precaution.

Curry has been limited to weight-bearing exercises and individual rehab work while awaiting medical clearance. Team officials are expected to provide another update soon as the guard focuses on stacking “good days” in his recovery.

Golden State currently sits at 31-29 and occupies the eighth seed in the Western Conference standings. Without their star guard, the Warriors appear headed toward the play-in tournament amid mounting pressure.

The roster has also been hit by other setbacks, including Jimmy Butler III’s season-ending ACL tear and Kristaps Porzingis’ recent illness-related absence. The combination of injuries has tested the team’s overall depth during a critical stretch.
