Star-Studded Return: Rock the Ryman Unveils Electrifying 2024 Lineup!

The acclaimed "Rock the Ryman" concert series is scheduled to make its return to Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium on September 1. The upcoming event will be hosted by the distinguished 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, John Oates, promising an evening filled with musical homage and cross-genre exploration.

A diverse lineup of featured artists has been announced for the September 1 concert, including Wynonna, YOLA, Devon Allman, ROME, Sam Bush, and Spencer Sutherland, with additional artists yet to be revealed. Each participating artist will perform songs originally by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees who have significantly influenced their own careers. Beyond individual performances, the concert aims to explore the deep historical roots of how country music has fundamentally shaped rock & roll, and how the rock genre has subsequently merged with and continues to influence contemporary Americana, country, and other musical styles. The event proudly boasts sponsorship from Gibson, the renowned American instrument brand, and Gibson Gives, its philanthropic division dedicated to supporting music education and wellness initiatives globally.

This ongoing collaboration between the Ryman Auditorium and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame began officially with Ryman's designation as a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Landmark in 2022. The inaugural "Rock the Ryman" concert took place on March 1, 2025, and was hosted by Charlie Worsham, featuring memorable performances by artists such as The War and Treaty, Gavin DeGraw, and Maddie & Tae, among others. In addition to the concerts, the collaboration includes a permanent exhibit, known as "Rock Hall at the Ryman," which is part of the Ryman's daytime tour. This exhibit showcases a rotating collection of valuable memorabilia and compelling stories from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees who have performed on the historic stage, offering visitors a deeper insight into the venue's rock & roll heritage.

Expanding its permanent display, the "Rock Hall at the Ryman" tour exhibit will feature new additions for the summer/fall 2026 season. These include: a Gibson “Appetite for Destruction” Les Paul prototype famously played by the 2012 Rock Hall inductee Slash of Guns N’ Roses, a band inducted in their first year of eligibility with Green Day performing the honors; a custom-made jacket by Johns of Hong Kong and a pair of J.R. Barrett boots, both owned and worn by James Brown, one of the 10 inaugural inductees in 1986, whose induction was led by Steve Winwood; a silk crepe tunic worn by 1993 inductee Etta James, the blues legend inducted on her second nomination by k.d. lang; Bob Dylan’s Branded Garments vest and his distinctive leather top hat, worn in 1987, a year before his 1988 induction (also his first year of eligibility) by Bruce Springsteen; and a Najee Classic white tuxedo shirt, tuxedo-styled trousers, and Brassboot-branded shoes, all owned and worn by Jerry Lee Lewis during his live performances. Like Brown, Lewis was one of the 10 inaugural inductees in 1986, with Hank Williams Jr. doing the honors for the "Killer."
