TV personality Stacey Solomon shared a deeply emotional family update regarding her beloved rescue spaniel, Teddy, during an episode of BBC One's 'Stacey and Joe'. The series, which chronicles Stacey, her husband Joe Swash, and their family's life at Pickle Cottage, often features their numerous pets. However, a recent episode saw a distressing turn of events when Teddy suddenly fell ill, losing his ability to walk.

Stacey promptly rushed Teddy to the vet, where she was later joined by Joe and their son Zachary. Tearfully, Stacey informed Joe about Teddy's serious condition, explaining, "You can see all his discs are gone, they've been bad - it must be hereditary, she said." The diagnosis revealed that Teddy had slipped a disc in his back, which was critically crushing his spinal cord, leading to paralysis.

Joe shared with the camera the grim prognosis, stating there was a "70 per cent chance that he'll never be able to use his legs again." The family grappled with the difficult decision of whether to put Teddy through an operation with such a low chance of recovery, emphasizing that he is an integral part of their family. Ultimately, they decided to proceed with the surgery, leaving Teddy overnight at the vet.

The car journey home was filled with distress for Stacey, who confided in her sister Gemma over the phone. She reiterated the veterinarian's assessment: a 30 per cent chance of recovery. Stacey expressed her resolve, saying, "She didn't say there's 0 per cent chance so what do you do? You have to give it a go, don't you?" The emotional toll was evident as Stacey worried about how to explain the situation to her children, acknowledging the possibility that Teddy might not return home.

Months after the operation, Stacey provided an update on social media. In an Instagram video, she explained that she had taken Teddy for grooming, as his inability to stand made washing him challenging. She expressed gratitude to her fans for their concern, sharing positive news about Teddy's spirit. "He's such a happy boy. He's such a lovely boy," she affirmed. While Teddy will never regain the use of his legs, Stacey confirmed that he has adapted well to a wheelchair and continues to be a joyful member of the family.
