Renowned comedian Peter Kay has announced the cancellation of two forthcoming performances at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on Sunday, October 5 and Monday, October 6, following a routine kidney stone procedure. The news was shared via an announcement on his social media platform X, confirming that medical advice mandates a period of rest and recovery for the entertainer. This unexpected pause comes amidst his record-breaking arena tour, which commenced in December of last year after a 12-year hiatus from live comedy, and is scheduled to run into 2025.
Kay, 52, a Bolton native, made a highly anticipated return to the stage, marking his first live tour since 2010. His previous tour famously earned him a Guinness World Record for the biggest-selling run of all time, captivating over 1.2 million people.
