The beloved Avatar Universe is officially expanding its reach, with Paramount+ announcing two major upcoming projects: the animated feature film "The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender" and the new animated series "Avatar: Seven Havens." This strategic move solidifies Paramount+ as the exclusive streaming home for the animated Avatar Universe, building upon its existing library which includes "The Legend of Korra" and the original "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series.

"The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender," initially slated for a theatrical release, will now premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in Fall 2026, with a previously mentioned date of October 9, 2026. This highly anticipated film centers on Avatar Aang, the world's last Airbender, as he embarks on a critical quest. Its official logline states that Aang learns of an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction, leading him and his friends on a global journey to secure it before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve. The film boasts an impressive voice cast, including previously announced members Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, Dionne Quan, Román Zaragoza, and Steven Yeun. New additions to the ensemble cast include Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Dee Bradley Baker, Freida Pinto, and Ke Huy Quan, alongside Dante Basco. The movie is directed by Lauren Montgomery and William Mata, with writing credits attributed to Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko, and Kenneth Lin.

Following the journey of Avatar Korra, the next iteration of the Avatar cycle will introduce an Earthbender Avatar in the new animated series "Avatar: Seven Havens." This series is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, where a young Earthbender discovers she is the new Avatar after Korra. However, in this perilous era, her title marks her as humanity's destroyer rather than its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and strive to save the Seven Havens before civilization's last strongholds collapse. "Avatar: Seven Havens" is structured into two books, each consisting of 13 half-hour episodes. Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko serve as co-creators and executive producers, joined by Ethan Spaulding as an executive producer and Sehaj Sethi as a co-executive producer. A release date for this series has not yet been announced.
