Shock Withdrawal: Fubara Abandons Rivers APC Governorship Race

Siminalayi Fubara has officially announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Rivers State. This significant decision was communicated in a personal statement issued on Wednesday.
Fubara explicitly stated that his withdrawal from the gubernatorial contest is motivated by a profound desire to foster peace, unity, and stability within Rivers State. He clarified that his decision to step aside should not be misconstrued as an act of weakness, fear, or surrender. Instead, he emphasized that it represents a deliberate sacrifice aimed at enabling Rivers State to advance peacefully.
In his statement, Fubara affirmed, "Let it be clearly understood that I stepped aside from participating in the upcoming Rivers State gubernatorial election not out of weakness, fear or surrender, but out of conviction and sacrifice so that Rivers State may move forward in peace and unity." He reiterated his unwavering commitment to serving the people of Rivers State for the remainder of his current tenure.
