The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has formally declared its unwavering readiness to mobilize voters and ensure the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all other party candidates in the forthcoming 2027 general elections. This significant assurance was delivered by the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, during the official inauguration of the Taraba structure of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.
The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement is a dedicated campaign group specifically established to galvanize grassroots support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 polls. Alhaji Bawa expressed strong confidence in the APC's prospects within Taraba State, reiterating to the party leadership that its comprehensive structures would be fully activated to deliver successful outcomes for all party candidates at every level during the elections.
This declaration coincided with the immediate commencement of a robust door-to-door mobilization campaign. The initiative is strategically designed to effectively convey the APC’s message directly to households, communities, places of worship such as churches and mosques across the entire state, ensuring broad reach and engagement.
Speaking at the inaugural event, Hon. Danladi Baido, the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign organization in Taraba State, articulated the party’s intention to build upon its performance from the 2023 presidential election. Hon. Baido highlighted Taraba's commendable third-place ranking among states in the North-East during the 2023 presidential election and expressed firm confidence that the state campaign organization would once again mobilize substantial support for the APC in 2027.
High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), the distinguished founder and convener of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, earnestly appealed to the people of Taraba to lend their full support to President Tinubu for a second term in office. Chief Tompolo underscored the critical necessity of continuity to consolidate the administration’s ongoing reforms and achieve their full potential. He posited that the policies being implemented by the Federal Government require adequate time to yield lasting and impactful results, further asserting that an additional term for President Tinubu would also provide an invaluable opportunity for Governor Agbu Kefas to steadfastly continue the implementation of his development agenda within the state.
Governor Kefas, in his address, actively endorsed the mobilization drive. He affirmed that the citizens of Taraba were already experiencing the tangible positive impact of the Tinubu administration through various projects and programs being executed across the state. “We are moving forward with the mandate of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President,” Governor Kefas stated, assuring the assembled gathering that his administration is committed to continuously executing and commissioning vital development projects throughout Taraba State.
Hon. Comrade Adekanbi Sunday Asuku, the national coordinator of the movement, confirmed that the organization had specifically come to Taraba to seek the overwhelming support of voters for both President Tinubu and Governor Kefas. Comrade Asuku issued a strong call to all members to intensify their grassroots mobilization efforts, declaring that the campaign would be taken from “door to door, church to church, mosque to mosque, home to home and local government to local government.” He additionally attributed the notable improvements in security across Taraba to the concerted efforts of the APC administrations and urged continued steadfast support for the party. The inauguration of the Taraba structure of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement signifies the addition of another crucial grassroots mobilization platform to the APC’s comprehensive preparations for the 2027 elections, with the group poised to operate effectively across all 16 local government areas of the state.
