When users comply and connect their wallets—especially those containing their SHIB holdings—the bad actors gain immediate access, allowing them to swiftly drain the funds.

Although cybercrimes are not new to the crypto space, this particular tactic appears to be novel and alarmingly successful, with numerous victims reporting their wallets being emptied in minutes. To combat these incidents, the SHIB team has issued a critical warning against using unofficial links not sourced directly from its official website. Furthermore, community members are urged to double-check invites and verify the social reputation of sources through official, verified social channels before attempting any wallet connections.
