Shakira and Uganda's Ghetto Kids Set to Ignite 2026 World Cup Halftime!

Uganda's renowned Triplet Ghetto Kids dance group is set to make history at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having been officially invited by Colombian pop star Shakira to perform with her at the tournament's final halftime show. Shakira shared this exciting news in a video message to her fans, expressing her vision to create a unique performance by bringing together diverse dance talents from across the globe. The Ugandan dance sensation is confirmed to join her on stage for what promises to be a spectacular event.
During the highly anticipated halftime show, Shakira is expected to perform her recently released official tournament anthem, “Dai Dai,” which features Nigeria’s very own Burna Boy. This collaboration further solidifies Africa's significant presence at the global football spectacle.
The Triplet Ghetto Kids, founded by Dauda Kavuma in Kampala, have garnered international acclaim over the past decade for their distinct and energetic choreography. Their impressive journey includes a feature in French Montana’s hit “Unforgettable” music video, a performance during the festivities at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and reaching the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, showcasing their consistent rise on the global stage.
This announcement significantly enhances Africa’s strong representation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In addition to Burna Boy's feature on the official anthem, Nigerian singer Rema and South African artist Tyla are scheduled to perform at the opening ceremony, which will take place on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final is slated for July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium. Shakira will co-headline the star-studded halftime show alongside iconic artists Madonna and the popular K-Pop group BTS, promising an unforgettable entertainment experience for billions of viewers worldwide.
