Sensational Meltdown: Rosé and Bruno Mars' Explosive Clash Before Music Video Shoot
BLACKPINK star Rosé recently made a surprising revelation about her collaboration with Bruno Mars on their smash-hit single, "APT.". The 28-year-old K-pop idol confessed to having the "biggest fight" with the 40-year-old "Locked Out of Heaven" singer just before they were scheduled to film the music video for their joint track, which was released in October 2024.
Speaking in a video Q+A for Vogue, Rosé candidly shared the details of the pre-shoot conflict. "Me and Bruno, oh my gosh, I don't know if I'm allowed to say this. I had the biggest fight with Bruno right before the music video shoot, but we made up on set, so it was alright," she recounted. Expressing a hint of regret for sharing the anecdote, she playfully added, "Oh my God, he's going to kill me... let's not fight. Let's be friends."
Despite the initial friction, the collaboration proved to be a monumental success. "APT.," released as the lead single from Rosé's debut studio album, "Rosie," quickly became an infectious earworm that captivated global audiences. The song spent an impressive 12 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Global 200 chart, marking it as Rosé and Mars' second number-one single each, and notably, the longest-running number-one song of 2024. Its widespread appeal led it to top the charts in over 50 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, and Taiwan.
The success of "APT." has also brought significant accolades. Rosé made history as the first K-pop act to win Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. With the Grammy Awards approaching in February, all eyes are now on "APT.," which has reportedly been submitted for prestigious categories such as Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Furthermore, Rosé's debut album, "Rosie," is also under consideration for Album of the Year.
Adding to the excitement for K-pop at the Grammys, the fictional band HUNTR/X from "KPop Demon Hunters" has also had their track "Golden" (performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI) submitted. This means both Rosé and HUNTR/X stand a chance of becoming the first K-pop act in history to win a Grammy Award, marking a potentially groundbreaking moment for the genre.
