Rihanna's 'Anti' Album Makes History: First by a Black Female Artist to Spend 500 Weeks on Billboard 200

Rihanna's landmark album "Anti," released nearly a decade ago in January 2016, has achieved a remarkable milestone by spending its 500th nonconsecutive week on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart. On the chart dated December 6, 2025, the critically acclaimed LP ranked at No. 134, solidifying its enduring presence in music history. This achievement is particularly significant as it marks the first time an album by a Black female soloist has spent 500 weeks on the Billboard 200, setting a new benchmark in Billboard chart history.
Reacting to the news on Monday, December 1, Rihanna, the Fenty mogul, expressed her pride on X, writing, "God ain’t forget bout me!" The album's sustained success is even more impressive given that "Anti" remains her most recent full-length studio album. Since its release, Rihanna has largely shifted her focus to her burgeoning fashion and beauty empires, as well as raising her family with partner A$AP Rocky. Her musical output in the intervening years has been minimal, limited to a few sparse singles such as the Oscar-nominated track "Lift Me Up" from the 2022 film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."
During its initial run, "Anti" soared to the top of the Billboard 200, spending two weeks at the No. 1 position. The album also spawned several major Billboard Hot 100 hits, including the chart-topping "Work" featuring Drake, as well as fan favorites "Needed Me" and "Love on the Brain." Its critical acclaim was further recognized through multiple Grammy nominations, notably for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Coincidentally, Monday, December 1, also saw Rihanna celebrating another significant, albeit different, milestone. The global superstar took to X to share images from her home country, Barbados, acknowledging its 59th year of Independence and its 4th year as a Republic. She also proudly announced the installation of Barbados's second President, His Excellency Lieutenant Colonel The Most Honorable Jeffrey Bostic, who, alongside Honorable Prime Minister Mia Mottley, is set to continue leading Barbados with excellence.
