Queen of Charts: Taylor Swift's 'The Fate of Ophelia' Dominates UK for Fifth Week

Taylor Swift continues her dominant run on the U.K. Singles Chart, securing the top spot for a fifth non-consecutive week with her hit track “The Fate of Ophelia.” The single initially soared to No. 1 on the U.K. charts dated October 10 and maintained that position for three consecutive weeks. After a brief period of contention with KPop Demon Hunters’ “Golden,” Swift regained the No. 1 position on November 14 and has now extended her lead for a second consecutive week at the summit. This impressive streak makes “The Fate of Ophelia” Swift’s longest-running U.K. No. 1 single since “Anti-Hero” from her 2022 album Midnights, which held the top spot for six weeks. In contrast, her earlier singles “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version)” (2023) and “Fortnight” (2024) each spent just a single week at No. 1.
On the U.K. Albums Charts, Swift has also achieved a significant milestone with “The Life of a Showgirl,” which marks her 14th U.K. No. 1 album. This accomplishment cements her record for the most No. 1 albums by an international artist in the U.K. and places her in a tie for second overall with legendary rock band The Rolling Stones, both having 14 chart-topping albums. The all-time record for No. 1 albums is currently shared by The Beatles and Robbie Williams, each boasting 15 apiece.
Elsewhere on the U.K. Singles Chart, HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” which previously spent a non-consecutive 10 weeks at the top, holds firm at No. 2. RAYE’s compelling track “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” maintains its position at No. 3 for a fifth consecutive week, showcasing its enduring popularity among listeners.
Olivia Dean is also making a notable impact with two songs within the top five, reflecting the growing momentum of her album “The Art of Loving.” Her single “So Easy (To Fall in Love With Me)” has reached a new personal best at No. 4, while “Man I Need” experiences a slight dip to No. 5. Dean’s presence on the charts extends further with her collaboration with Sam Fender, “Rein Me In,” climbing to No. 7, and “A Couple Minutes” hitting a new peak at No. 13.
Rising Liverpool rapper EsDeeKid has three songs performing strongly within the top 40: “Phantom” at No. 15, “Century” at No. 16, and “4 Raws” at No. 35. The week’s highest new entry comes from Charli xcx, whose track “Chains of Love,” featured on her “Wuthering Heights” soundtrack LP, debuted at No. 26.
