Premier League's Bold Move: Asia Set To Host Four-Club Summer Series

The Premier League is currently exploring the possibility of hosting a four-club Summer Series in Asia during the upcoming year. Although concrete plans have yet to be finalized, reports indicate that clubs have been contacted to solicit their views on the matter. Potential host cities understood to be under consideration include Hong Kong and the nearby Chinese city of Shenzhen, marking a potential return of the tournament to the Far East.
Since its inception in 2003, the Premier League has organized a biennial pre-season tournament. This event was consistently held in the Far East until 2019. Following a break in 2021, necessitated by the global Covid pandemic, the tournament was relaunched and rebranded as the 'Summer Series' in 2023. The revitalized series subsequently shifted its focus to the United States, with its inaugural edition taking place there. The most recent installment of the Summer Series was successfully held this past summer across multiple American cities, including New York, Chicago, and Atlanta.
