Political Shake-up Averted: NNPP Lawmakers Shun Defection Rumors

Stakeholders of the Accord Party recently convened in Keffi, where they officially recognized the faction led by Chris Imumolen. This recognition, according to the stakeholders, is firmly supported by a Federal High Court Order, lending significant legal weight to their decision.
During the meeting, the stakeholders also took decisive action against the Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem-led faction, announcing its suspension. A statement released by Ambassador Kabiru Hassan, on behalf of the stakeholders, confirmed the suspension of Mgbudem and his deputy national chairman. The primary reason cited for their suspension was alleged anti-party activities, which the stakeholders deemed detrimental to the party's interests.
Specifically, the suspended party members were accused of endorsing APGA candidate Soludo, who, according to the stakeholders' claims, was actively working in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This endorsement was seen as a direct act of sabotage against the Accord Party.
Furthermore, the Accord stakeholders made a notable claim regarding Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, asserting that he has been showing interest in their party. While acknowledging this interest, they issued a stern caution to the governor. They urged him to be wary of the suspended national chairman, advising him to “join an Accord party led by Chris Imumolen to avoid risking litigation that can destroy his ambition.” This counsel underscores the ongoing internal power struggle and the stakeholders' intent to safeguard the party's future and political standing.
